Each day at camp is a new journey filled with exciting challenges and endless fun! Whether rain or shine, our dedicated team is here to ensure every moment is memorable. Nestled around the scenic Migeon Pond, our camp features a wide array of activities to suit every interest. From swimming and boating to sports, arts & crafts, and even a thrilling zip-line over the pond, there’s something for everyone.
Campers are grouped by grade, ensuring tailored experiences and plenty of opportunities to connect with peers. With activities ranging from archery and gaga to STEM activities and NERF wars, there’s never a dull moment at camp. Plus, our campers receive expert swim instruction and enjoy daily free swim sessions, making every day a splash!
About Our Staff
YMCA Camp staff is made up of teachers, outdoor enthusiasts, colleges graduates, college students and high school students. We look for staff that have a love of children and an understanding of the importance of inclusion and desire to give all children, regardless of their abilities, a rewarding camp experience. Y staff go the extra mile to make our camp program exceptional. They are mature, dependable, trustworthy and respectful.

CAMPER DIVISION
Campers are divided into four divisions based upon their school grade in the coming fall.
Explorers | Grades K-2
Explorers participate through a structured schedule focused on introducing them to camp activities including: swimming, arts & crafts, sports & group games and nature exploration. After lunch, Explorers will have a short quiet time to give them a chance to re-energize for the afternoon. Theme weeks include: S1 Kick-off the Summer, S2 Little Chef, S3 Little Athlete and S4 Let’s Go Camping.
Pathfinders | Grades 3-4
Pathfinders rotate through a schedule of activities including archery, swimming, boating & fishing, swimming, climbing tower & zip lining, fort building, sports & group games, camp crafts, carnival games of skill and more. Theme weeks include: S1 Super Heroes, S2 Wet & Wild, S3 Timbers and S4 Color Wars.
Pioneers | Grades 5-6
Pioneers follow a progressive program where they enjoy the camp activities including archery, swimming, boating & fishing, climbing tower & zip line, fort building, sports & group games, camp crafts, carnival games of skill and adding new activities of science & engineering and RC cars. Theme weeks include: S1 Ultimate Warrior, S2 Operation Green, S3 Hydration Vacation and S4 Camper vs. Wild.
Crew | Grades 7-9
Crew enjoys all the aspect camp has to offer including; STEAM, sports, archery, swimming & boating, RC cars, climbing wall, zip line, Carnival Games of Skill, Plants/ Insects & Animals, Letter Boxing and Orienteering and so much more. Crew will participate in the themes for the younger villages along with having their own themes specialized for just them. Theme weeks include: S1 Gold Rush, S2 Adventure Challenge, S3 Olympics and S4 Summer Rewind.
Junior Leaders Program
For teens ages 14 & 15, this four-week leadership development program for those interested in becoming leader role models and/or camp counselors. The focus is developing positive role model skills, teamwork, positive character development, problem solving and empathy. Junior leaders will learn about working with others from many different backgrounds and the importance of including everyone. Mornings are spent with peers working together and learning skills and afternoons assigned to camper units, putting the new skills into action guided by camp counselors.
A healthy lunch is offered free of charge to all campers 18 years of age and younger through EdAdvance pending approval. Your child may elect to bring his/her own lunch to camp; however, we ask that you send it in a clearly marked brown paper bag. All lunches are stored in refrigeration per CT state regulation. Menus will be posted at the start of the camp season. Pending approval of state funding.
Extended hours of care are available for sessions 1-4 for families needing care beyond regular camp hours (9 am to 4pm) Monday through Friday for an additional fee.
Torrington YMCA: 7 am – bus pickup; bus drop-off until 6 pm.
Winsted YMCA: 7 am – bus pick-up; no after care
Bus transportation is available for families for no additional charge to and from camp. Staff members ride the buses to assure a safe and fun ride for each camper and ensure authorized adult pick-up. Bus stops are available throughout the area for sessions 1-4.

- Kids of Summer Foundation reviews applications for financial assistance on a first come, first served basis. The sooner you apply, the better chance you will have. Apply at thekidsofsummer.org.
- Free or Low-cost Camperships are available from a grant from the State of Connecticut. Applications are available at YMCA locations and nwcty.org.
- Apply to State of Connecticut Care 4 Kids program that supports families with working parents. Application link at nwcty.org

Camper Referral Program
Good people know good people!
Happy camp families love to tell their friends and neighbors about YMCA Camp M.O.E. We appreciate that and want to say “thank you” by giving you a $50 refund for each camper referral that registers for camp this summer.
It’s SIMPLE!
- Fill in the referral form. Complete the information about your interested family.
- For every referral that registers and attends camp, you will receive a refund at the end of September
- There’s NO LIMIT to how many friends you can refer (ex. Refer 4 campers, receive $200.00)
Some Guidelines:
- There is no limit on how many referrals you can make, but we MUST have a form filled out for each one.
- Referrals must be new to YMCA Camp M.O.E. and cannot be siblings or family members

(You will see a sign for Camp MOE).
From Winsted:
From RTE 8 South take Exit 44 for the RTE 4 connection. Take a right at the end of the exit. Follow the signs to RTE 4 West. At the intersection of RTE 4 and RTE 272 turn right onto RTE 272.
